Ava Sky Stewart is a proud queer artist, working across photography, videography, and performance. Before being based in Naarm/Melbourne, they grew up on Gubbi Gubbi Country on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

Outside of producing content for artists, they are a graduate of Zen Zo Zo Physical Theatre Company’s Creative Entrepreneur Internship (2024) and The National Drama School’s class of 2026.

Their theatre credits include, The Old Woman in The Strange and Distant Land of Nonsense (Jaime Dörner, 2026), Catch in Kill Climate Deniers (Emily O’Brien Brown, 2026), The First Witch in Macbeth (Shaun Goss, 2025), Yelena in Uncle Vanya (Shaun Goss, 2025), The Matilda Award winning production of Blushing (Zen Zen Zo, 2024), Summer of Prayer (Dairakudakan, 2024), Jen in the school touring production of Lizard (Perseverance Street Theatre Company, 2022-2024), the Mother in A Monster Calls (Sharon Hogan & Sarah Harvey, 2023), cast Swing in Money and Friends (Rory Williamson, 2022) and Emily in And Now We Wait (Jo Hendrie, 2021-2022)

This foundation in performance deeply informs their photographic practice, with their versatility as an artist sharpening their understanding of movement, presence and timing. Allowing Ava to anticipate moments rather than stage them. They bring a performer’s intuition to every shoot, creating images that feel embodied, alive, and grounded in authentic expression.

Ava is the founder of Flow Space Studios, a company rooted in the belief that creativity thrives in a state of flow; a transformative, immersive experience where self-consciousness falls away and instinct leads. Their work centres on creating environments where artists feel safe, seen, and free to fully inhabit their craft. During the state of flow, Ava strives to provide a space where creativity flourishes, enabling artists to transcend the ordinary and deliver extraordinary artistic experiences.
